FSU football fans want the coaches to concentrate more on hauling in talented in-state players from Florida.

It looks like the coaches have the same goal in mind as the latest offer goes to 2023 defensive back Daemon Fagan.

Fagan hails from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and helped them win a state championship last season.

Fagan announced the offer via his Twitter account:

American Heritage is a powerhouse program in south Florida known to produce great players. As I’ve been saying, the recruiting rankings are not up to date due to the pandemic and players not being able to showcase their skills at camps, etc.

Fagan lists as safety and doesn’t have a composite ranking, but holds eight offers from FSU, Oregon, Miami, Georgia, Arizona State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Texas A&M.

That offer sheet alone likely says he’ll be at least a high three-star or blue-chip player.

Fagan checks in at 6’2″ and 160 pounds and had 12 tackles, four interceptions, and was a 5A second-team selection on defense last season.

The good news is the Noles are one of the earlier offers and have time to establish a relationship with the young man. He’s in Miami’s backyard, and they only offered him three months earlier.

FSU is making a conscious effort to establish a foothold in South Florida again, and the Director of High School Relations, Ryan Bartow, will be instrumental in those efforts.

The Noles already have three 2023 commitments, and two of those are from Florida, with 46 in-state players with offers.

If the Noles can start making headway in South Florida again, it’ll go back to the days of FSU running the ACC and competing for a title like they were less than a decade ago.
