FSU football will begin spring practice in a couple of weeks. These 15 practices are critical in determining how successful Mike Norvell and the coaching staff will be in 2021.

Of course, the Noles only had three spring practices in 2020 and missed weeks of getting reps in a new offense and defense.

The players had to work out on their own, with many not having access to the equipment necessary to provide the growth needed from a strength and conditioning aspect.

Not to mention, have you ever tried to work out at home without teammates and coaches there to get the maximum out of you every rep?

It’s difficult to push yourself no matter how mentally tough you are, and so most of the gains the players saw in the first couple of weeks were gone by the time they got back to campus later that summer.

I know there are no excuses and every program had to deal with the pandemic in its own way. The only problem was most of the teams in direct competition with FSU football were on a solid foundation the last few seasons.

Their floor wasn’t as low as FSU, and we saw the difference when the team took the field in late 2020. Some units saw improvements, while others failed to meet expectations.

Let’s look at three positional groups with a lot to prove in 2021.
