DE: Jermaine Johnson, Derrick McLendon, Quashon Fuller, Deontae Williams

NT: Fabian Lovett, Dennis Briggs Jr., Jarrett Jackson

DT: Robert Cooper, Tru Thompson, Malcolm Ray, Joshua Farmer

FOX: Keir Thomas, Leonard Warner, Curtis Fann, Josh Griffis, TJ Davis

The three newcomers on this side of the ball are Farmer, Johnson, and Thomas. The transfers, Johnson and Thomas, should play immediately.

Johnson is a pure pass rusher and will be allowed to dominate tackles and get after the quarterback. He is a super-savvy pass rusher who tallied more sacks last year than both of our edge rushers combined.

Thomas is a heady player who can use his physical tools and vision to clog rushing lanes and get after the quarterback. This staff has established at all stops that they want players that can get to the quarterback and are not necessarily prototypical edge rushers or interior linemen.

We see this with the body transformation of Farmer and the multiple stops Briggs, McLendon, Fuller are bound to play along the defensive line. Jackson is another player whose position along the defensive line is ambiguous as he progresses.

Another note I want to touch on about this unit is the physical development they have undergone. Cooper was a big clogging body who has slimmed down and looked better last season. Thomspon is nearly unrecognizable because of the changes the strength and conditioning.

This group has undergone the most changes under the Coach Storms nutrition program. The social media feeds of these players show big bodies moving heavy weight.

Griffis was one of the players used in the propaganda as was Lovett, Briggs, Thompson, McClendon, Thompson, and Johnson. Both lines are a fixture in videos and Tour of Duty photos as each player continues to progress as we continue to improve positions that have been inept at best.
