Robert Scott Jr.

Robert Scott Jr. is a player the Noles flipped from Ole Miss late in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Thank GOD they did, as Scott emerged as the Co-Offensive Player of the Year along with Toafili.

He received247 Sports True Freshman All-American honors. Scott saw action in all eight games and started the last seven at right tackle.

FSU football fans know how important the tackle position is for the Noles as it’s arguably been the worst position on the roster the past half-decade or more.

The fact Scott could play and start as a freshman, who didn’t early-enroll tells you a lot about the lack of depth and talent. However, credit to Scott and FSU offensive line coach Alex Atkins, who put in the work and helped Scott prepare even though he wasn’t a blue-chip player rankings-wise.

The offensive line is a unit the Noles have tried to address via the transfer portal and high school prep players. It looks like Scott will be a key component of that unit’s turnaround and still has four years of eligibility left.

His success helped the Noles land their first blue-chip offensive tackle in years when Rod Orr signed with the Noles in the 2021 recruiting class.
