Akeem Dent

Akeem Dent is the highest-rated recruit from the 2019 class. Dent had a strong freshman season, totaling 35 tackles, 1.5 for loss, and seven pass breakups.

The pass breakups total was the most in ACC by a true freshman, but at least four of those should have been interceptions.

Dent is similar to Lucas, as he suffered an injury in the Sun Bowl against Arizona State and may not have been able to rehab properly due to the pandemic.

There was a sharp downturn in his play as a sophomore, as teams completed nearly every pass thrown in his direction(no exaggeration).

He finished the season with 13 tackles, one pass breakup, and one quarterback hurry in seven games with five starts.

FSU coaches have brought in reinforcements in the secondary from the transfer portal. The 2021 season could be a make or break for Akeem Dent.

If he’s able to shine again in 2021, that means the FSU defense will be playing at a higher level than they have the past few seasons.
