Jarvis Brownlee

Brownlee was another underrated recruit in the 2019 recruiting class. Unlike Ray, Brownlee carved a niche out for himself in what was a crowded secondary when he arrived.

Brownlee redshirted in 2019 and appeared in eight games with four starts in 2020. He finished the season with 26 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and crowned the FSU defensive freshman of the year.

Brownlee played well at times and other times, left a lot to desire. However, one can’t knock he’s one of the players on defense with that “dog” in him.

He’s a fierce competitor, and the FSU defense will be that much better with him on the field. Brownlee played a lot of nickel cornerback in 2020 but could see time at the field cornerback position, as well in 2021.

The experience gained in 2020 should be valuable, as well as a full offseason to get more familiar with Adam Fuller’s defense.
