FSU football: 5 players from 2018 class who need to shine in 2021

FSU football brought in a highly ranked 2018 transitional class under Willie Taggart. On paper, Taggart did a masterful job of saving the class ranked in the 60s.

However, over time, that class has failed to provide a lot of production considering the number of blue-chip players (13 of 21).

An astounding 13 of the 21 players were dismissed, entered the transfer portal, medically disqualified, or declared for the NFL Draft.

There have been some solid players from this class. Asante Samuel Jr should be an early selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. Jaiden Lars-Woodbey was an ESPN Freshman All-American before an injury derailed his career.

The lowest-rated recruit in the class, Keyshawn Helton, was productive before an injury sidelined him in the 2019 season.

Most of the eight players remaining from the class have made contributions to the program.

There’s still some talent from the class that has yet to contribute. Some of them have been injury-prone, with others not being able to put it together for whatever reason.
