The worst case scenario: cancellations

The absolute worst thing that can happen for this FSU basketball team is that these postponed games or other games in the future get postponed.

I have touched on some aspects of what happens if this happens, but looking deeper, other components would be extremely beneficial to an FSU basketball team that is still working through some kinks and injuries.

One thing that comes to mind is playing as a whole unit by moving the ball and figuring out their opponent early.

Halftime adjustments can be made at that point, and that’s something Leonard Hamilton and staff do well. This aspect especially comes in handy once you face opponents in a tournament you have never seen or played before.

Injuries are one aspect where cancellation of games could help, but I do not see that being the case in Florida State’s circumstance. Anthony Polite has been out for a few games with a shoulder injury, but all signs point to him returning soon with even some reports of the first game back this Saturday vs. Wake Forest.

With no serious injuries outside of a few bumps and bruises, I do not see the case for hoping for cancellations of games the rest of the season. Cancellations will do more harm than good as we close out the regular season ACC play.

The negative effects the Noles would suffer from cancellations are obvious, and should be taken with a grain of salt unless we see more issues due to COVID-19.

This team is extremely balanced and has the potential to make some noise come tournament time. Hopefully, we’ll get to see a definitive finish, unlike last year.
