Honorable Mention

I expect a few more true freshmen to see the field in 2021. I was tempted to put the following players on my list but didn’t for one reason or another:

  • Joshua Burrell-WR (Early Enrollee)
  • Patrick Payton
  • George Wilson
  • Jackson West-TE (Early Enrollee)
  • Joshua Farmer-DE/DT (Early  Enrollee)

Burrell enrolling early gives him an edge most freshmen wide receivers don’t have. He’s also incredibly smart and should pick up the playbook quickly. I don’t expect much from Payton and Wilson, but both could see time in third and long situations as pure pass rushers.

Jackson West could see some snaps, and being an early enrollee helps. Heck, FSU had a walk-on playing snaps last year over a couple of guys on scholarship, so don’t be surprised to see West on the field at some point. He’s a bit underrated as a recruit too.

Joshua Farmer is a guy that’s already been in S&C program that’s helped transform his body. That advantage, along with enrolling early could help him compete for playing time.
