Hunter Washington

FSU football is known for putting defensive backs in the NFL and brought in a talented group in the 2021 class.

The highest-rated and most polished is four-star Hunter Washington, who turned down a late push from Clemson before signing with the Noles.

Washington was the No. 250 player overall, No. 19 cornerback, and No. 38 player in Texas.

Washington isn’t an early enrollee, but defensive backs seem to be able to get on the field quicker as freshmen than compared to other positions.

The likelihood of FSU football moving to more of a Nickel approach on defenses increases those odds as well. FSU brought in several defensive backs in the recruiting cycle, so the competition will be fierce.

However, FSU likes to rotate those defensive backs too, so there’s a good shot Washington will be on the field for meaningful snaps before the season is complete.
