FSU basketball (10-3, 6-2 ACC) played one of its worst games of the season in their last outing against Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets were a team the Noles beat by double-digits earlier in the season, but a lack of urgency and sloppy play ultimately saw FSU’s five-game winning streak come to an end.

The game was a bit of a continuation of the Miami game, with the Noles allowing teams to outhustle them while committing ridiculous turnovers.

FSU basketball fans voiced their opinions when the Noles were rolling the opposition and not ranked in the top 25.

They re-entered the rankings at No. 16 last week, a ranking I felt was a bit too low. However, the way they played against Miami and Georgia Tech was an indication this team isn’t ready to be elite yet.

FSU fell to No. 20 in this weeks updated AP rankings:

FSU basketball can play with any team in the country when they are focused, and they have been playing the last few games without one of their top players in Anthony Polite.

However, they’ve been playing down to their level of competition, which is something I voiced concern about after their obliteration of Clemson.

The Noles will look to rebound from the GT loss when they travel to Boston College (3-10, 1-6 ACC) Tuesday at 9 p.m.

It’s a game where FSU basketball is favored, as Boston College will only have four scholarship players available due to COVID-19 issues. ESPN’s FPI gives the Noles a 72.2 percent chance of winning the game. Although, Boston College has played the likes of Louisville, Virginia, and Duke tough over the past five games.

Hopefully, a win Tuesday night will get the Noles back on track as they enter a tougher part of their schedule in the coming week.
