As FSU football begins to prepare for the 2021 season, young players who have contributed along the defense look to take another step forward. /

As I said in part one:

"The success of the youth on this football team is paramount. There is a direct correlation between the further development of the nucleus and the trajectory of the program."

The defensive side of the ball struggled the most. Freshman, new transfers, and veterans included. Players of Cory Durden and Marvin Wilson’s quality should not be muzzled as easily as they have been.

Not to mention the lack of production and depth from the edge throughout last season. The freshmen, on the defensive side were thrown into the fire quickly due to the lack of talent and production.

Couple that fire with the lack of discipline that comes with young players and the altered scheme with hardly an offseason to prepare, and you see games like the Miami and Louisville.

Again, the FSU program’s immediate success is dependent on those roughly 74 percent of underclassmen added from both the transfer portal and the high school signing class.

Let’s look at those additions from the 2020 class and see g for an uptick in performance.
