FSU Football: 5 players from 2020 class poised for breakout
By Cole Maines
Kentron Poitier
The wide receiver corp was supremely disappointing all season. Drops have been all too familiar, and injuries and COVID-19 all hindered the development at the position.
Poitier only had four catches all season for less than 40 yards. Part of that is the run-heavy scheme, leading to Poitier using his 6’3″ 200 lbs for blocking along the edge.
He could become a starter, and with the addition of Milton, will likely get a lot more targets.
Poitier has shown that he has sure hands and his frame is big enough to be an easy bet for impact catches. He will be a mismatch nightmare and a massive red zone threat.
He has the body to catch it over the middle, something we haven’t had since Kelvin Benjamin, and will be able to take off with a new quarterback. He was in the offseason conditioning before, and he looked ready to be a college football player.
He could make another jump this season and will be a big element of the wide receiver room.
