FSU football has started spring workouts in preparation for their season opener against Notre Dame on September 5.
It’s the second spring under Mike Norvell who was not able to have an actual spring game in his first year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It looks like that will not be the case in 2021, as FSU announced the FSU spring game takes place on Saturday, April 10.
The announcement was posted on Twitter:

No other details were provided regarding the time or if fans will be allowed, though I have to believe fans will be allowed in some capacity since that was the case during the 2020 season.
There seems to be some excitement brewing going into Mike Norvell’s second year, although some fans are rightfully in wait and see mode.
However, many fans said they planned on making the trip to Tallahassee for the spring game.

If they allow fans at regular capacity we gotta break the attendance record again. Willie’s first was 54K and it was a lot of fun. I know we can pack it for Norvell since he didn’t have one this year.

I doubt they will allow the stadium to be at regular capacity. However, I do think they can draw a good crowd as the new additions from the transfer portal have fans believing again.
Some plan to skip the spring game so they can attend the first game of the year against Notre Dame. Other fans plan to wait to see how the COVID-19 vaccine is working before making a decision.
I understand both stances as attending a college football game is no cheap experience, especially if you’re not living near Tallahassee. There are still people dying from the virus, so I can understand waiting to see if things look like they are calming down before spending money to go to a game that doesn’t mean much.
However, it’s great to see so much enthusiasm after how the past four seasons have gone. Here’s to hoping the program gets a full spring to practice, so there are no excuses once the Notre Dame rolls around.
