FSU football: Grading 2018 recruiting class in retrospect

Impact Players
It’s crazy to think with the number of highly ranked players in the class that only one can be classified as an impact player.
- Asante Samuel Jr: 4-star DB
Asante Samuel Jr. came in as the third highest-rated recruit(No. 60 nationally) in the 2018 class. He’s the only player from that class that has declared for the NFL Draft, and will likely be a late first-round or early second-round selection.
He started the final three games of the 2018 season before becoming a full-time starter the rest of his career. He was the only player in the nation with over 45 tackles and 14 pass breakups.
He finished his FSU football career with 96 tackles, 29 pass breakups, and four interceptions. Samuel Jr. was consistently one of the toughest players in the nation for wide receivers to have success against despite being limited in height.
