FSU football will have a 2021 blue-chip target on campus soon.

FSU football was handcuffed during the pandemic since recruits couldn’t visit the campus for official visits.

I’ve always been a follow the visits type of guy when it comes to recruiting, so getting players on campus is usually big in determining where they commit.

($) Noles247 is reporting four-star defensive tackle Tywone Malone will be visiting FSU next week in an important piece of news.

Malone has been the top defensive tackle target of FSU this recruiting cycle, and checks in at 6’5″ and 305 pounds. He’s considered the No. 61 player overall and No. 5 defensive tackle in the nation with 29 offers.

He plans to play football and baseball in college, and the FSU baseball staff has been doing a great job of recruiting him on that front.

Most folks believe Malone’s recruit comes down to Ole Miss and FSU, with the Rebels owning 100 percent of the 247 Crystal Ball Predictions.

FSU has been hot on the recruiting trails of late, landing four quality players from the transfer portal. They have about six spots left in the recruiting class, and they’d take Tywone Malone in a heartbeat, as well as blue-chip wide receiver Destyn Hill.

Malone would be the highest-rated defensive tackle the Noles have landed since Marvin Wilson in the 2017 recruiting cycle.

FSU didn’t have a high school defensive tackle in the 2020 class, with blue-chip Emanuel Rodgers failing to qualify.

The coaching staff addressed that void with the addition of Fabian Lovett from the transfer portal. However, Malone would be the lone defensive tackle in the 2021 class that wouldn’t need to add additional size.

His addition to the class would be a great perception booster, as he’d be the highest-rated recruit and only top 100 player.

He meets a need on the field, off the field, and could help the baseball team. It’ll be interesting to see what the narrative is once he completes his visit.

It still won’t be like a regular official visit because of the dead period, but I’m sure the staff will do their best to prove how important he is to this recruiting class.
