Transfer Portal

Remember how I wrote the Noles would be saving additional spots in 2021 for players in the transfer portal? Kimo Makaneole’s spot can be used for that purpose.

As I mentioned, he wasn’t going to be a contributor for quite some time, so the coaching staff can find 1-2 offensive tackles from the transfer portal who can help the Noles win right now.

If the Noles can put a better product on the field in 2021, that means they could likely get higher caliber players that would leapfrog Makaneole in a year or two.

The coaching staff can’t afford to take flyers on too many project players, granted most offensive linemen are projects, and Makaneole committed quite some time ago.

I think Makaneole had some potential and may have been able to play multiple spots,  but he also wasn’t a true offensive tackle, and that’s what FSU needs right now.

FSU needs to be competitive and win on the field to speed up the process to compete for better players.

Offensive tackles from the transfer portal are at least physically ready to play more than Makaneole.
