Parting Thoughts

Mike Norvell understands the task at hand. He has to produce results on the field while changing the culture of the program, and that is no easy task with a program that has unreal expectations, despite the last four seasons of mediocrity.

However, the approach he’s taking is the most sound to do just that, but they still have to do their due diligence on transfer players, just as they would for high school players.

It is a gamble because players enter the portal for different reasons, and there’s no guarantee those players will live up to expectations.

However, it does give FSU football the best shot at improving the product on the field. If that happens, then there’s a better product to promote to elite high school players. It could also attract better players that enter the transfer portal, which could be key at certain positions.

I expect the staff to take a couple of high school players, with the rest of the spots filled with transfers. It’s possible the ranking could improve to the top 20, but this class could ultimately be better than its ranking, depending on which transfers they take.

The main thing to remember is they have addressed some major needs in Mike Norvell’s first two recruiting classes, with more to come.

The key will be getting these players enrolled and locked into the player development side of things.

If that happens, I expect things to improve on the field with recruiting better players. to follow.
