FSU football Rose To The Occasion

Duke got demolished last week against Miami. I felt like if the Noles got up big early they would surely lay down and give the Noles an easy out the rest of the way.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. Duke kept playing hard and took advantage of FSU football shooting themselves in the foot in the second quarter. They scored 21 straight points and looked to be on the verge of tying the game going into halftime while getting the ball first to start the second half.

That wasn’t a good combination for FSU football fans. However, the defense was able to hold on longn enough for Duke to implode with multiple penalities before the end of the half and force a turnover on Duke’s first possession in the third quarter.

That was the difference in the game. The defense forced a turnover and knocked their quarterback out of the game and the offense took advantage with a touchdown that ultimately gave them control of the game the rest of the way.

We’ve seen it time and time again with FSU facing adversity and folding under it. If Duke were a better team, it’s likley it would have happened again, but at least the Noles found a way to win convincingly after it wasn’t looking good going into halftime.
