FSU’s running game imposed their will

I knew Duke’s defense struggled to stop the run coming into the game as they were allowing almost five yards per carry to the competition.

The Noles averaged nearly eight yards per carry and had multiple explosive runs on the day. FSU went scoreless in the second half, and I thought Mike Norvell got away from the run game in that time.

However, he went back to it later in the game, and the Noles seemed to get whatever they wanted as the Duke defense began to get tired. A lot of credit has to be given to the offensive line, as they were able to open up some massive holes like the one on Lawrence Toafili’s touchdown run:

The same can be said for Treshaun Ward’s touchdown run. That’s a great sign for the future as almost all of the players involved are freshmen or sophomores.
