FSU football will look to keep their unbeaten streak against Duke alive.

FSU football has never lost to the Duke Blue Devils and will look to keep that streak alive as they enter Saturday’s rescheduled contest.

The game was originally set for this past weekend with FSU traveling to Duke. However, the ACC Conference stepped in and switched things around due to COVID-19 issues. Instead, the Noles had last week off, and Duke got destroyed by Miami.

Duke was originally favored by three points, with them hosting the Noles, and now the Noles opened near three-point favorites, with Duke traveling to Tallahassee.

The betting line has increased to the Noles being favored by -4.5 to -5 points across most betting sites according, to The Action Network.

It’s customary for teams to receive around three points for home-field advantage, so essentially oddsmakers feel the teams are matched evenly.

However, the betting line sliding into the direction of the Noles means more money has been placed on them to win.

I’d place the Noles as favorites for a couple of reasons. Jordan Travis should return as the starting quarterback, which gives the Noles their best chance of scoring points. Duke is offensively challenged and turns the ball over more than anyone in the country. Their defense has given up point totals of 56 twice and 48 points in their last three outings.

Also, the FSU defense should show some signs of improvement after having multiple weeks of working on fundamentals. The FSU defense will be without their best defensive player in Asante Samuel Jr., who’s heading to the NFL.

However, we have to wonder which team is motivated to play this game Saturday? Duke is traditionally bad or mediocre, and FSU football is looking to climb back to the top. Will Duke be motivated to travel and play a game after getting blasted last week against Miami?

I have my doubts. If the Noles can get off to a good start, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Duke go on and lay down for the count.
