FSU football: Thoughts on modified schedule with Duke and Wake Forest

Player Development
There is nothing more important for the players on this team than getting actual reps whether, it’s at practice or in actual games.
It’s similar to how important making a bowl is during regular years, as that allows teams to continue to practice and develop players.
The Noles are playing a lot of young players, but we have to remember these guys missed most of spring and summer while trying to learn a new offense and defense for the third time in four years.
It also gives the coaches more opportunities to build relationships with these players while continuing to implement their offensive and defensive systems.
Another neat factor is the senior players getting a chance to have a senior day. Otherwise, they would have missed that opportunity unless they planned to come back in 2021.
I know that may not be important to some fans, but these players have put a lot of time and effort into being a student-athlete, so it’s only right they get recognized for that.
