The Team Didn’t Quit

Not quitting is the most important factor for Mike Norvell and staff. The team was down 14-0 early in the fourth quarter, and it would have been easy for the players to just lay down on the road.

However, the team continued to fight and scrap to get on the board with a long field-goal. The defense forced NC State to punt, but Travis Jay fumbling the punt gave the Wolfpack a short field, and they punched it in to make it 21-3.

What would have happened if Travis Jay didn’t fumble that punt? The Noles would have had a decent field position, and they may have been able to put something together?

NC State pushed their lead to 28-3, and the Noles still kept fighting and actually won the fourth quarter by outscoring NC State 13-3.

I know there is no such thing as moral victories, but FSU football fans have to look for the small glimpses of hope.

It’s not the FSU standard, but it’s also the acceptance of where the program is right now. It seems like Mike Norvell is using these games as active scrimmages for the rest of the year to get these players all the reps they can get.

Frankly, it’s what’s needed because they missed so much time in the offseason due to COVID-19. As long as they keep playing hard, and he hards them accountable, good things will begin to happen at some point.

Unfortunately, it’s going to be a while before we’ll be able to be competitive again. However, the climb to the top is always fun!
