Overall Effort

The effort in the Pittsburgh game was there early. The offense came out firing on all cylinders like usual, and the defense didn’t give up a touchdown on their first possession.

However, the wheels seemed to come off once Jordan Travis threw the first interception deep in FSU territory.

I don’t think the team quit, but there were some times they didn’t give maximum effort on plays. Here’s one in particular that almost forced me to blow a gasket when I was watching in real-time:

This team played hard in the losses to Notre Dame and the win against North Carolina. I thought they played hard for the most part against Louisville.

However, there were times against Pittsburgh where they seemed to be going through the motions.

If things with this program are going to change, it has to start with what the players can control. The effort is the number one thing they can control.

I want to see them play hard in all three phases for 60 minutes Saturday night. If they do that and get blown out?

I can live with it.
