Final Thoughts

The NCAA has extended the recruiting dead period through April 2021, so the coaching staff is going to have to do the best they can given the circumstances.

The fans getting bent all out of shape about recruiting need to snap back into reality and realize it’s not 2012 anymore. This FSU football program is having to rebuild.

I’d pay more attention to how Mike Norvell is filling the needs of the roster than I would be recruiting rankings right now.

The good news is they can expedite the process somewhat through the transfer portal and JUCO scene. However, they still have to evaluate well and find guys that buy into the narrative of laying a foundation to build success.

They’ve found some success through those areas already. Devontay Love-Taylor, La’Damian Webb, and Fabian Lovett come to mind as the types of players that can speed the process up. It’s going to take some time, but they can get things back to respectable levels in 2-3 years with the right pieces in place.

I know it’s hard being patient as an FSU football fan, but this program was in worse shape a year ago then when Willie Taggart arrived in December 2017. It’s going to take fillings needs on the roster and player development to get this program on the upswing again.
