Final Thoughts and Record Prediction

Ultimately, as I said before, I like FSU Basketball’s schedule for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. With the departures of Devin Vassell, Patrick Williams, and Trent Forrest, FSU has an uphill climb to be the team that they have been in the past. The addition of five-star point forward Scottie Barnes should help the ‘Noles tremendously as well as senior G MJ Walker stepping into the leadership role that so many Leonard Hamilton teams possess. Having just below 25% fan attendance will play a massive role this season as the team loves to play behind the raucous Civic Center crowd.

Overall, I think the ‘Noles will come out hot this season, perhaps even starting 5-0 in non-conference play. If I were to see a slip up it would be against the Florida Gators as Florida State will have to deal with a Mike White team that they have never seen before. However, I do not expect this to happen and see FSU going 5-0 in the non-conference schedule.

Now once we get into ACC Conference play is where things get tricky. Last year we saw the ‘Noles lose their first conference game of the season before understanding that not one team in the ACC should be taken lightly. I don’t expect them to lose the opener, but I think FSU most likely loses a game to Miami, North Carolina, Virginia, and one surprise loss when one team gets extremely hot. Like much of the FSU Basketball fan base, I am very high on the team, predicting them to go 21-4. Call it a homer pick, but I have the utmost belief that Ham and the boys can once again take the ACC crown and perhaps go further than they ever have before.
