FSU football: The mentality of this team is unacceptable
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football is soft and mentally weak.
FSU football runs the same script every game. They start OK, and as soon as the opposing team has some success or FSU faces some adversity, they crumble like cookies in Santa Claus’s mouth on Christmas Eve.
It’s unacceptable to see the same thing every week. I’m tired of writing the same thing every week.
I’m sure the coaches have to be exhausted with putting out the same issues every single week.
I’ve been saying it for weeks, their biggest problem is the lack of confidence. Senior defensive end Janarius Robinson confirmed everything in his post-game interview:
I had to translate what he was saying into simpler terms. It’s true, and the apt description for what’s going on with this team.
However, I can understand this type of mentality because the program was 18-20 coming into this season. None of these players know how to win.
That’s not the biggest issue I have. One of the things I’ve seen this year that makes my blood boil.
The players’ celebrating making a tackle when the opposing player gains eight yards. The players celebrating making a play when they are losing by two touchdowns.
The players’ making gestures on an incomplete pass when they got beat on a route, but the ball was overthrown.
What type of mentality is that? There’s no place in the game for that type of nonsense. Mike Norvell can’t continue to allow that type of stuff to take place.
It makes the program look ridiculous, and if I were the parent of a recruit, they’d have to provide a great reason as to why they allow players to behave in that manner.
It is a loser mentality, plain and simple.
