FSU football: Why Noles get back on track against Pittsburgh
By Kelvin Hunt
Final Thoughts
The Noles come into this game as slight betting favorites at -2 with an over/under of around 52 according to the Action Network.
That implies a score of 27-25 for the Noles and isn’t a guaranteed win for the Noles. However, I think Mike Norvell and Kenny Dillingham are great at game planning and finding areas to exploit, especially when they have extra time.
If the FSU defense can show up, and that’s a big if based on what we’ve seen through six games.
However, I have to believe we’ll see some improvement from that unit based on the matchup and time to prepare against a backup quarterback.
If the FSU defense can’t stop or at least slow down a Pittsburgh offense after two weeks to prepare? Then I think it’s safe to say we can throw any hope of this unit improving out of the window.
I also want to point out that if they do succeed in stopping or slowing down Pittsburgh, that’s not necessarily proof they have improved. I would attribute it mostly to playing against a backup quarterback and style matchup.
If they do hold the Panthers to say 17 points or less, then that would be something that one could point to as success because it would exceed expectations.
I think the Noles get it done in a close one. I’m going with 24-20 for the good guys.
