Virginia

Virginia is a game I thought the Noles would win fairly decisively before the season began after nearly beating the Cavaliers on the road last season.

The Cavaliers are (2-4) with wins Duke in their season opener and the biggest win in their last outing against North Carolina.

They are averaging 5.15 yards per play and 27.2 points per game. Advanced metrics have Virginia with the No. 56 offense and No. 54 ranked defense.

They played Miami tough in a 19-14 loss before upsetting North Carolina, so it seems they could be rounding into form as the season progresses.

It’s a game I think FSU football would win if I had any confidence in the defense, but that’s like playing the lottery these days.

I think the Pittsburgh game will provide a good indication of what to expect from Adam Fuller and that group moving forward. However, this game more of a toss-up now depending on which FSU defense decides to show up.
