NC State

NC State is a game I thought the Noles would win fairly decisively before the season began, even with the game being in Raleigh.

The Noles rolled the Wolfpack last season when they trotted former FSU backup QB Bailey Hockman out as their starter.

Hockman could be the starter when they play in a couple of weeks as the Wolfpack lost their starting QB to injury.

The Wolfpack is (4-2) with wins over Wake Forest, Virginia, Duke, and Pittsburgh. The advanced metrics have them with the No. 60 offense and No. 74 ranked defense.

They are averaging 5.55 yards per play and 31.5 points per game. It was announced the FSU game will be a night game, and NC State will be able to have a limited number of fans in the stadium.

IF Bailey Hockman is the starting QB for the Wolfpack, I like FSU’s chances because he isn’t mobile or very good. However, if they get their starting quarterback to return, this game is likely tougher than I thought unless the FSU defense discovers how to play good football.
