Stay Ahead Of The Chains Offensively

This area is something I wrote about Wednesday as the Noles has done an excellent job in this department since Jordan Travis has been QB1.

The only problem they’ve run into is committing penalties like false starts or holding to put them behind the chains.

Jordan Travis has only been sacked three times since entering the Jacksonville State game, and the offense as a whole has only allowed 12 tackles for loss since then when Travis is at QB.

Louisville had a strong performance against Notre Dame, but I’m more inclined to believe that was an anomaly. They were terrible last season and have been all this year before the Notre Dame game.

The thing about the Notre Dame game is the Fighting Irish controlled the ball on the ground as they ran the ball 72 percent of the time. Each team only had seven possessions for the entire game.

So that would explain the low scoring affair somewhat if you didn’t get a chance to see the game. If the Noles can stay out of predictable passing situations, they should be able to move the ball as their defense is allowing 5.93 yards per play, including the Notre Dame game.
