Final Thoughts

The biggest thing is making clear progress on the field. It’s something I wrote about numerous times with the previous staff, but they could never make it happen to get over the hump.

The team making progress on the field affects current players, recruits, fans, boosters, the community, and more.

The key will be to take the success they’ve experienced and parlay it into success next week against a Louisville team I felt was overhyped going into the season.

Mike Norvell preaches becoming one percent better every day, and that’s something the players seem to be embracing every week.

One thing I want to mention also is how Mike Norvell is seemingly holding players accountable. If a player commits a dumb penalty, he’s taken out of the game immediately.

We’ve seen the coaching staff remove older players from the starting lineup and replace them with younger players who are giving more effort or playing better.

That’s something we haven’t seen the last few years, but it’s a welcome sign that things are going in the right direction under Mike Norvell.
