FSU football: Recruits and commits react to Noles win over North Carolina
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football needed a huge win over a quality opponent to show the program is moving in the right direction. Recruits and commits react to the win over UNC.
FSU football is holding steady with the No. 25 recruiting class in the nation for 2021. The Noles were as high as No. 18, but the de-commitment from four-star legacy linebacker Branden Jennings dropped the Noles several spots.
The program has been showing signs of progress in different areas but struggling to put it together in all three phases.
The βNoles win over No. 5 UNC was its best effort to date this season. The defense wreaked havoc in the trenches, special teams made plays, and the offense has been night and day since Jordan Travis was inserted at quarterback.
FSU has benefited from playing in several primetime games this year, and all eyes were on Tallahassee Saturday night when the Noles knocked off North Carolina.

Thoughts
Itβs great to see players taking notice of the Noles showing improvement on the field. One key player mentioned is a four-star defensive back and local product Terrion Arnold.
Itβs also good to see four-star QB commit Luke Altmyer taking notice and giving a vote of confidence in the staff and the players.
2021 still has some holes to fill in its class at offensive tackle, defensive tackle, linebacker, running back, and wide receiver.
If the Noles can continue to show the progress the way they have over the last few games, there are several blue-chip players FSU football will remain in the mix for going forward. They need them to avoid the talent gap widening between them and the competition.
Theyβll need to finish the season strong to close with a top 15 class, and will likely have to hit the transfer portal hard to address some positions of need.
