Final Thoughts

It was a monumental effort from a unit that has been rightfully criticized the majority of this season.

Admittedly, it was a good matchup for them as Sam Howell isn’t the quickest quarterback with his legs as the Noles have faced the majority of the season.

However, there were multiple opportunities for the defense to fold or not give 100 percent when things were not going their way.

The fourth down stops were critical, but the stop they got after Jordan Travis threw the interception was equally as important.

North Carolina began that drive on the FSU 30 and only got three yards of offense before their field goal kicker missed from 44 yards.

It’s something the defense can build on, and maybe it takes some of the heat off defensive coordinator Adam Fuller.

The guys seemed to be playing better together as a unit and showing incremental improvements each game.
