The FSU Defense Showed Improvement

There were a lot of questions about the FSU defense, and Adam Fuller’s ability to call the defense.

The defense played hard against Notre Dame but lacked execution and the ability to make plays when they had the opportunities.

Don’t get me wrong, they missed several plays Saturday night against North Carolina, but they looked a ton better as a whole.

The entire defensive line caused havoc all night, finishing the game with four sacks and eight tackles for loss. Janarius Robinson had two sacks, and Joshua Kaindoh played arguably his most complete game since arriving in Tallahassee.

There were still some issues of setting the edge a few times, but overall, the longest run North Carolina had on the night was for 27 yards.

They held North Carolina below their seasonal average on yards per play and only allowed them to convert 2 of 11 third downs. They stopped them on every fourth down they tried to convert.

It was their best performance to date, and maybe they are getting closer to the potential we all thought they had in the preseason?
