Credit To Notre Dame

I think a lot of FSU football fans are still holding onto hope this FSU defense will eventually get close to the hype they had in the preseason.

Do yourself a favor and let that go if that’s you. Those expectations are no more, and we have to respect Notre Dame has one of the best offensive lines in the country.

For those two reasons, I’m grading this game on somewhat of a curve. Notre Dame has good quarterback play and came into the game averaging nearly five yards per carry.

They averaged over six yards per carry in 2019, so thinking a sub-par FSU defense was going to slow them down at all was delusional.

Just forget FSU has players that were blue-chip players when they were recruits because that doesn’t matter anymore. It doesn’t matter FSU used to get great linebackers and great defensive linemen.

FSU doesn’t have either of those right now, so those expectations must be adjusted moving forward. There is one thing I saw that I liked from the defense.
