Running Game Is Legit

We saw Lawrance Toafili, Jashaun Corbin, and La’Damian Webb run wild against Jacksonville State a week ago.

It’s one of those deals where you chalk it up to it being Jacksonville State, it was their first game of the season, and eventually wearing down after FSU ran play and play.

However, there were times when the FSU offense ran the ball at will against a stout Notre Dame defense.

The FSU drive I mentioned earlier late in the second quarter saw running plays go for 9, 4, 16, 8, 16, 2, and 3 yards.

The majority of those runs were from La’Damian Webb and Jordan Travis, but Webb was bullying Notre Dame defenders on this particular series.

It forced Notre Dame to stack the box and blitz once FSU got in the red zone. If they can run the ball like that against Notre Dame, they should have no problems running against most of the teams on their schedule.
