Slow The Game Down

I expect both teams will want to run the ball a lot, which means the game could go by relatively quickly.

A clock that doesn’t stop a lot because of incomplete passes would be beneficial to the Noles unless Notre Dame runs it down their throat from start finish.

Sadly, I could see that happening unless FSU’s defensive line finds some mental fortitude and decides to play to the level of their recruiting rating and experience levels.

However, Notre Dame has an equally talented  and experienced offensive line. They ran the ball 42 times against Duke in the season opener and 45 times against South Florida.

They’re averaging 5.28 yards per carry and the Noles are allowing 4.28 yards per carry while averaging 4.22 yards rushing.

Notre Dame’s defense is stingy against the run, allowing 2.87 yards per carry. However, they’ve yet to face an athletic quarterback like Jordan Travis.

The question is can the Noles run it well enough to through it successfully?
