FSU football: Noles make top 3 for four-star Jaylin White
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football coaches are still hard at work with its 2021 recruiting class. A player they offered a while ago is still high on the Noles.
The 2020 version of the FSU football offense has shown the program is in dire need of playmakers, especially at the running back position.
FSU fans have gotten used to the likes of Dalvin Cook and Cam Akers over the past six years, and now the running back room is a committee approach with freshman Lawrence Toafili beginning to emerge.
If you’re good enough, you’ll play as a true freshman at FSU football, and that’s likely why four-star running back target Jaylin White has the Noles in his top three schools.
White announced his list Friday afternoon via his Twitter account and announced a few days ago he plans to announce his commitment on October 10:
White checks in at 5’11″ and 197 pounds and is considered the No. 262 ranked player nationally, No. 12 running back, and No. 9 player in Alabama.
White holds 18 offers from the likes of FSU, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas, Purdue, Mississippi State, Penn State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Tennessee, Louisville, and Texas A&M. In-state programs, Alabama and Auburn have not offered him at this time and would likely change things if they were to do so.
White earned his FSU offer after visiting campus in early March, which took place right before the COVID-19 pandemic changed the landscape of recruiting.
The running back position is one of two positions(defensive tackle) FSU doesn’t have a commitment for in the 2021 recruiting cycle. The addition of White would keep the Noles in their current position of No. 18 in the recruiting rankings.
White lives in SEC country and seemed excited about the SEC beginning play last week on his social media page.
Here’s to hoping the Noles can get a commitment from him in a week or so and establish some momentum on the recruiting trails.
