FSU football was expecting to put a dominant defensive product on the field against Georgia Tech. However, that’s not happened Saturday.

The first half of the game wasn’t very good, but the shutout in the first half made things appear better than they were.

FSU allowed a freshman quarterback to average 6.25 yards per play in the first half, and the Noles were lucky not to go into halftime losing the game.

Jeff Sims gifted the Noles with two interceptions as the Yellow Jackets were driving on FSU’s side of the field. The second interception took place in the red zone.

Not to mention Georgia Tech had two field goals blocked by the ‘Noles special teams. Now, credit to the Noles for blocking the kicks, but let’s not act like that happens all the time.

The offense has more of an excuse with missing spring practice because it’s more difficult to teach, but I believe Adam Fuller was outcoached by Georgia Tech. There’s no reason Georgia Tech should have been able to move the ball the way they did against the FSU.

The defense was expected to the be the strength of the team, after all, they returned a ton of talent and are playing a scheme most of the players are at least somewhat familiar.

Now, there were a few instances where they held Georgia Tech to field goals instead of allowing touchdowns.

However, let’s talk about three issues I saw with FSU’s defense Saturday night.
