The 2020 FSU football season is finally here as the Noles host Georgia Tech Saturday afternoon at Doak Campbell Stadium.

The FSU football team opens the long-awaited 2020 season hosting Georgia Tech at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Noles can finally focus on playing a football game after the longest offseason in history. The game is also the first game of the season for the Yellow Jackets, who enter the game as double-digit favorites, according to The Action Network.

It’s a game the Noles can’t afford to lose, and they owe the Yellow Jackets a beating from the embarrassing upset the last time they met in 2015.

The focus for the Noles will be competing for 60 minutes and finishing the game strong without beating themselves with dumb penalties and turnovers.

FSU’s defense will be the strength of the team, with new defensive coordinator Adam Fuller taking over one of the most talented units in the nation.

Mike Norvell and Kenny Dillingham will be tasked with getting the most of an offense that most are not sure what to expect. Will the offensive line protect James Blackman? Will Blackman make smart and quick decisions?

FSU fans are confident and nervous about the game at the same time. The past few years have scarred their minds, and they need to see proof of improvement before fully believing again.

Mike Norvell has preached bringing success to Tallahassee by doing all the little things. He’s emphasized special teams more than any new coach I’ve seen, and has consistently said the best players will play, and if players are not giving maximum effort on the field, they wont.
