FSU football may be facing its most important game in recent seasons against Georgia Tech. It could be the most important game in Mike Norvell’s career.

It is officially game week for the FSU football program as the 2020 season is just days away from getting underway.

While the Seminoles are putting last-minute touches on the upcoming opener with Georgia Tech, they do so knowing after what took place last season.

FSU football has not won its season opener since storming back to defeat Ole Miss in the 2016 opener.

Season openers for the last three seasons have not been kind, as the Noles have lost all three games embarrassingly.

The losses were due to a special team’s collapse in 2017, laying an absolute egg against Virginia Tech in 2018, and blowing a halftime lead against Boise State, who had a true freshman at quarterback in 2019.

For FSU football head coach Mike Norvell, the opener with the Yellow Jackets is going to be bigger than any game he has coached at any stop before Tallahassee.

I’m not one to put more pressure on anyone, and Mike Norvell understands what is at stake, but the Georgia Tech game is must-win status.

Here is why Georgia Tech is the most important game on the schedule.
