Offensive Line

I said it on our Twitter account earlier, but  I think this is the best possible starting five they could have come up with:

  • Darius Washington (LT)
  • Dontae Lucas (LG)
  • Maurice Smith (C)
  • Baveon Johnson (RG)
  • Devontay Love-Taylor (RT)

Every player listed has started at least two college starts under their belt. Washington showed promise late last season as a freshman.

Lucas was the best offensive linemen FSU had last season, playing as a freshman. Smith winning the center position is a good sign, which allows Baveon Johnson to take his experience over to guard.

Love-Taylor was brought in as a graduate transfer to help with the right tackle position. If that starting lineup can stay healthy, I think they can be serviceable.

However, if the injury bug shows up, at least two freshmen could see meaningful snaps, which usually isn’t a good thing.
