FSU football will open its season against Georgia Tech Saturday. Here are three takeaways from the depth chart released by Mike Norvell.

FSU football game week is finally here ladies and gentlemen. FSU head coach Mike Norvell and coordinators spoke with media Monday afternoon on a variety of topics.

One of the biggest questions going into the press conference was the depth chart for FSU football going into the Georgia Tech game.

Some positions like James Blackman being the starting quarterback and Marvin Wilson and Asante Samuel Jr. being starters on the defense were not surprising.

However, there were some surprises on both offense and defense when the depth chart was released.

Norvell confirmed Hamsah Nasirildeen would not be available for Georgia Tech, but “is close” to being ready to return.

Overall, I feel good about how the depth chart looks. I think the defensive line will be stout, and the wide receiver bunch  is athletic as it comes.

Here are my three takeaways from the depth chart for the Georgia Tech game.
