FSU football depth chart: Projecting the 2020 defensive starting lineup

Linebackers

Starters: Leonard Warner (MIKE starter), Emmett Rice( WILL starter), Amari Gainer (STUD Starter)
Rotation: Stephen Dix Jr., Jaleel McRae, Kalen DeLoach, DJ Lundy

The linebacker position has been a problem area for several years due to injuries, poor development, and lack of coaching.

FSU football finally has good depth at the position, with seniors Leonard Warner and Emmett Rice returning as starters.

Rice came on strong the latter part of 2019 and looked poised to be a breakout player in 2020. Gainer continued to flash as he gained experience and should be a factor in blitz packages and coverage.

This unit could be the best it has looked in quite some time with competent coaching.
