FSU football: Top 10 bold predictions for 2020 season
By Kelvin Hunt
James Blackman will pass for 3,000 yards on the season
James Blackman had a good freshman season, passing for 2,230 yards on 297 pass attempts.
He averaged 7.5 yards per attempt and completed 58 percent of his passes that season. He completed 63 percent of his passes last season, accounting for 2,339 yards on 292 pass attempts.
It’s a different offense from last season, but the Noles will feature arguably the most talented group of wide receivers in the last 10 years.
Mike Norvell likes to run the ball, but his quarterbacks at Memphis threw for no less than 3,296 yards in his four years there.
I also anticipate Blackman throwing a lot of quick/short passes to receivers in space, which should help this prediction come true.
Blackman will need to average 275 passing yards per game to reach 3,000 yards in the 11 games season. I see him averaging between 30-35 attempts per game, which should get him over the hump.
