QB Depth

I could take the excerpt from the tight end slide and plug it in right here. Redshirt junior James Blackman will enter the season as the starter with little to no proven experience behind him.

Redshirt sophomore Jordan Travis has missed a lot of fall camp, so his availability is up in the air a bit. That leaves freshman Tate Rodemaker who’s yet to plan an official snap in college football.

Freshman Chubba Purdy was injured during the first fall scrimmage and will miss the first few weeks as he recovers.

That’s not a lot of depth or experience if Blackman were to go down with an injury or something this season. Jordan Travis is probably relegated to package plays that can take advantage of his legs, and the freshman would likely play like you’d expect freshmen to play.

James Blackman needs to stay healthy at all costs.
