FSU football: Top 5 concerns going into 2020 season
By Kelvin Hunt
There is cautious optimism regarding FSU football heading into 2020. I look at five concerns heading into the season in the Mike Norvell era.
FSU football went into the 2019 season with quiet confidence, and it looked as though that confidence showed up after the first half against Boise State.
However, blowing a huge lead in that game and almost losing to Lousiana-Monroe in the second had FSU football fans about ready to throw in the towel on the season.
It was a tough season to watch and write about as the Noles lost to Miami and Florida in consecutive years for the first time in a decade. The loss in the bowl game against Arizona State seemed fitting to another mediocre season.
The Noles will take the field in just over a week against Georgia Tech in what’s one of the most important FSU games in recent memory.
Expectations for 2020 are fluctuating wildly, with some folk believing the Noles will have a ceiling of eight to nine wins with others believing the Noles could finish as low at 5-7.
Some promising reports are coming out of fall camp, and there are noticeable differences in the physiques of several players.
Coach Norvell has started the healing process as the fan base looks to rebound from the last couple of seasons and find new faith in the program.
For all those doubting the Noles in 2020, the roster is still full of talented players. FSU football is in better shape with key positions than a year ago, but new concerns have arrived for the new season.
Let’s get into the top five biggest concerns going into 2020.
