Mike Norvell Seems To Like Where This Team Is

Mike Norvell’s tone and rhetoric are different now than they were in the spring. I remember him talking about how nobody was emerging as a leader yet, in the spring.

Now, he’s quick to point out multiple players showing leadership capabilities. There were only two times where Norvell mentioned he was displeased with the focus of the team.

The first time was the practice after the first scrimmage, and the second was at the beginning of  practice, with players not playing with the intensity and physicality Norvell wanted.

Those things are the biggest things Mike Norvell has harped on, players being consistent every single day at practice. He’s been trying to create situations where the players have to respond to adversity because it’s something they haven’t done well as a program in the past few years.

He believes they’ve made significant progress since the spring, but still have a lot of work to do.

If Norvell is this confident in this team, then FSU football fans should feel optimistic, too. He’s been cautious with his words.

He knows this team is one of the more talented teams in the nation, but his job is to get them to play together in all three phases of the game.
