FSU football: Top 5 things we learned from 2020 fall camp

Special Teams Are Very Important
One of the first things Mike Norvell talked about during his introductory press conference was the importance of special teams.
Well, he wasn’t lying as it seems he’s mentioned them working on special teams in almost every press conference after practice.
Not only that, but some of the best players on the team will be participating in special teams much as they did in the early years of the Jimbo Fisher regime.
I think Norvell understands the defense will be the strength of the team in 2020. Strong special teams can help an offense trying to find itself with short fields, which would make scoring easier.
For example, special teams could help with pinning a team deep in their territory against FSU’s defense, which could result in a three and out and the FSU offense getting the ball with a short field.
Think of how many games were lost in the last two years because of poor defense and special teams?
